HIKING SOLOMON ISLANDS
Day 1:
Your driver will pick you up at Honiara International Airport and drive you up into the mountains of Honiara. You will be dropped at Parangiju Mountain Lodge where you will spend the night. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the stunning view of Honiara and the port below. Dinner is included. Spend the rest of the evening at your leisure.
Day 2:
Enjoy your breakfast (included) before setting off on a morning bushwalk to the nearby waterfalls. Be sure to bring your camera, as the rainforest walk is beautiful! Then enjoy lunch at your own leisure. You'll be picked up after lunch by your driver to be taken down to the Domestic airport ready to fly to your next destination, Munda. Be sure to secure an aisle seat when you enter the plane as the aerial views are amazing. One hour later you will arrive at Munda airport where you will be met by a representative from Titiru Eco Lodge. Here you will be taken one hour by boat to your accommodation, an overwater bungalow. Enjoy your afternoon meeting your hosts and exploring the Lodge before a delicious Solomon Island meal.
Day 3-4:
Enjoy your next two day at your leisure and whatever you like whether that be swimming, snorkeling, fishing, visiting the local village or hiking Mt Rendova. For those that love music you might be lucky enough to hear the bamboo band play. All meals included.
Day 5:
Today enjoy your last morning at Titiru Eco Lodge before hoping back in the boat for an hour to Agnes Lodge in Munda. Here you can explore the local village, markets and the nearby Peter Joseph WWII museum. Or, hire a driver to take you out snorkeling or exploring some of the other surrounding islands like skull island where you can learn about the head hunter culture.
Day 6:
This morning you will hop onto the local Rava Boat that will take you 1.5 hours down the Vona Vona Lagoon to Gizo Town. On this journey you will see some amazing crystal clear water, many deserted islands and local homes. On arrival in Gizo, you will meet a representative from Kolombangara. If you get the chance have a walk around Gizo markets and up the main street to experience local life. Then travel one hour by boat to Kolombangara, a dormant volcano that protrudes the horizon in Gizo and Munda. Here you will be taken to the township of Ringgi, where you will spend the night at Ringgi Guesthouse. Enjoy a local dinner, all included.
Day 7-8:
After breakfast this morning you will hop in the back of a truck to be transported up to the highlands were you will base yourself at Imbu Rano Lodge. Here is the perfect place to start your hiking up to the crater, along the river or through the abundance of rainforest that surrounds you. Included in your itinerary is the conservation fee, a hiking guide each day and all your meals. Enjoy the peace and quiet and all the beauty this area offers.
Day 9:
Journey back down to Ringgi today and hop on a boat that will take you to Gizo airstrip. Say good bye to the beauty of the western province as you fly back to Honiara today. Here you will be met by your transfer provider and taken to the international terminal where you will prefer your trip home, or alternatively, spend some time in town in Honiara!
