The traditional bungalows utilise local design and allow you to experience a typical village style house. Sago Palm shutters can be opened out to let the breeze through or lowered during any moments of rain. Large airy balconies allow you to relax with a view over our gardens and out to the lagoon. Whilst the building is traditional, 240v power is available from 11am until 11pm and each bungalow has a kitchenette with bar fridge and drinking water.

Bar and Dining

Zipolo Habu dining is based on the freshest ingredients the region has to offer. They love to provide international food, infused with local flavors through local cooking techniques. Obviously, seafood is their absolute specialty – whether it be barbecued crayfish, cuttlefish soup, chili mud crab or sashimi tuna. Often, Zipolo’s local fishermen catch it and it’s on the table within hours. They also love to prepare your own catch of the day to your liking as we all know that what we catch ourselves always tastes the best.

Alternatively, as they provide basic kitchenette facilities in rooms, you can prepare your own simple meals if you prefer. As local markets can be unpredictable, they advise you to bring vegetables from either the Honiara or Gizo markets, and catch or purchase from Zipolo’s plentiful supply of seafood readily available at Lola Island.

Waterfront Cafe

At the end of the day, the waterfront cafe is a great place to kick back and soak up the atmosphere. Catch your favorite sporting match on the satellite television, enjoy a cold drink and a snack or just watch the sun set over the lagoon.

Fully Licensed Bar

The Fishing Bar is fully licensed, and open throughout the day and into the evening. It’s a great place to unwind after a big day exploring the region with a cold drink and a local story from the bartender.

They serve crisp cold local beer, imported wine, a full range of soft drinks, and an extensive listing of spirits. From time to time, they’re also known to pull together a brilliant cocktail.

The Bar includes Rod Holders along with your Stubby Holders!

Like a cold drink whilst fishing? We understand that fishing can be thirsty work so we’re also happy to arrange an esky with some cold drinks for your day out on the water.

DIVING - Closed until further notice

The local dive list boasts a spectacular and unique fresh / salt water cave dive, stunning reef and drop offs, together with an every-growing range of WWII wrecks. Whats even better is that Dive Munda offer a free pick up drop off service to all Zipolo Habu guests.

Surfing

Although the Skull Island can be fickle, when there's swell it is one on the Solomon's best waves and you are guaranteed no crowds.

The best time is between November through to March however there are quality breaks throughout the year. The lows that form in the coral sea during this time usually developed below the Solomon's and drop down towards Vanuatu, these lows push up from really deep water in a south eastly direction.

Zipolo’s resort break – ‘Skull Island’, which is almost paddling distance, is an extremely long, right hand break over deep coral reef; nice and safe. When it’s breaking, it’s usually very clean. There's also Despretes about 20 mins boat ride away, Mbirimbiri and Lavata Island or try a day trip to Rendova Island and find that secret spot.

A range of boards are available for hire from the resort at modest rates.

Surf charters start from $30 per hours plus fuel for 2 and an additional $5 per person.
