In 2001 a new Hayman was unveiled - the culmination of a two-year $AUD18 million development program which included the introduction of new levels of accommodation, designed to reflect a more relaxed resort style.

Getting there
Air/Luxury Launch
Hayman guests usually arrive via daily jet airline services into nearby Hamilton Island, transferring to a short 20 nautical mile (55 minutes) luxury boat transfe r to Hayman Island.
Return transfers from Hamilton Island to Hayman are on board the luxury boats "Sun Eagle", "Sun Goddess" or "Sun Paradise". All passengers must be ticketed through to Hayman (Port Symbol Code "HIS") and all baggage correctly labeled will be transferred directly through to the guest's room.
Launch transfers to Hayman can be purchased separately for the "Sun Eagle", "Sun Goddess" or "Sun Paradise". Guest beverages on the launch transfers are free of charge, and also guest registration and distribution of room keys is carried out whilst on board. Guests are escorted to their rooms and luggage delivered directly.
Approximate direct flight times to Hamilton Island:
- Ex Sydney: 2 hours 30 minutes
- Ex Brisbane: 1 hour 40 minutes
- Ex Melbourne: 3 hours 40 minutes
- Ex Cairns: 1 hour
Helicopter
Hayman can be also accessed directly by charter helicopter from Hamilton Island, Proserpine Airport (32 nautical miles -25 minute flying time), or from Shute Habour. Helicopter transfers costs from Hamilton Island, Proserpine Airport or Shute Habour are available on application.
Seaplane
From either Hamilton Island, Proserpine or Shute Harbour flying time is approximately twenty minutes, maximum 4/5 persons.
Water Taxi
From Shute Harbour, the journey of 21 nautical miles takes approximately 1 hour, however this option can be a little uncomfortable in windy or inclement weather. Price available on application.
