REMARKABLES - WHAT'S IN A NAME?
START OUT THE EASY WAY
The Remarkables is the best place in the South Island to learn to ski. The mountain has a series of sheltered bowls, all with easy chairlift access, and loads of long cruising runs - perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED
Don’t panic if you haven’t got the gear, or you don’t want to lug it up the mountain. Our rental department and Sno Shop have everything you need - from clothing to the latest carving skis.
BOARD ATTITUDE
It’s too difficult to sum up The Remarkable experience in just a few words - wide open trails - native keas - powder - spectacular views - sun drenched terrain - rock bands and cornices - hikes and traverses with friends to unforgettable runs - chutes for a challenge and of course ‘homeward bound’ powder run for all levels of snowboarders, so long and open that there’s a free bus at the bottom waiting to take you back up to the base lodge for more.
Beginners to advanced to extremist - The Remarkables can truly be a fantastic alpine experience.
EXTREME EDGE
One of the contradictions about The Remarkables is that while it’s ideal for beginners, it’s also home away from home for those who enjoy the extreme.
Take on the escalator, taste some Homeward Bound powder, or explore the back country run beside Lake Alta. There’s terrain like you’ve never seen before ... and if you’re prepared to exercise the legs a little, you’ll discover some of the longest off-piste runs around.
