The Remarkables, Queenstown
The 2nd closest Ski field from Queenstown. Only 50 minutes drive by car (you may need chains) or take the bus. The road is sealed from town to the mountain turn off, then its 14km of unsealed mountain road.
The Remarkables Ski Area is known for its alpine environment, relaxed atmosphere and sense of fun. Young snowboarders, freeskiers and families flock to the mountain’s varied trails, terrain parks and backcountry areas.

Serving up untold variations of double-black, cruisers and glades for skiers and snowboarders, Aspen Mountain rises an impressive 3,267 feet from the heart of downtown Aspen. After two decades of faithful service, the famous Silver Queen Gondola received a complete overhaul in 2006 and now boasts 147 spacious Swiss-made cabins. The new cabins offer more interior space for up to six guests and floor-to-ceiling windows to soak in the surrounding vistas before plunging down the slopes.
