STEVEN AND KATE " Castaway is the most popular Mamanuca Island resort. The overall size of the Island with its lush tropical vegetation, and bush walks, secluded spacious bures, creative Island cuisine, and the genuine warmth and friendliness of the Castaway family of staff combine to provide a unique island holiday experience. YOUR ACCOMMODATION There are sixty six spacious thatched traditional Fijian style bures (bungalows). Whether your choice is beach front, oceanview or island setting, all bures feature one queen size ensemble and two single beds. They comfortably sleep four persons. Each bure features traditional Fijian design high roofs and ceiling mounted fans. Sleeping and living quarters are separate with the emphasis being on privacy and comfort. A well stocked drinks refrigerator is provided Your bure has a separate large ensuite bathroom including separate shower, toilet and vanity area complete with hairdryer and toiletries. Castaway has an abundance of fresh clean water. CASTAWAY ACTIVITIES Windsurf, paddleboard, sail a catamaran around the lagoon. View the living coral reef by snorkelling or through a glass bottomed boat, all with our compliments. Award winning P.A.D.I. dive facilities and training, jetskiing, parasailing, waterskiing, handline and game fishing and island hopping on Fiji's fastest speedboat are offered in addition to our complimentary activities. A CASTAWAY WEDDING Castaway Island is the perfect place to come to celebrate the beginning of your life together. Many young lovers come here for a romantic South Pacific wedding, while others renew their vows or celebrate their honeymoon. Marriage under Fijian law involves two parts: The first part is the registration of the intent to marry with the Registry office in Nadi. The office is open from 9:00 am-3:00 pm Monday through Friday, and the meeting will take between 15-30 minutes. We try to organize an appointment for the bride and groom in the Nadi Registry office on the first or second day of arrival in Fiji. This will allow for the completion of the Fijian Registry requirements before coming to the Island for the marriage service. It is important to note the bride and groom will need an original or certified copy of their respective birth certificates, their passports and if previously divorced, a copy of their divorce papers. The second part is a religious ceremony to be held on Castaway Island. Usually the ceremony takes place at sunset on our jetty adjacent to the dining terrace. A minister would be available prior to the wedding to discuss the wording used in the ceremony. The services included in the cost are as follows: * Limousine transfers and escort to the Registry office * Donation given to the Minister * Use of traditional Fijian wedding attire for the bride and groom and two witnesses * Wedding decorations / salusalu * (lei) / flowers / bouquet / boutonniere Boat transfers for the Minister to and from the village * Music by the Castaway Islanders and the Castaway Island Family choir * Castaway Island video memento of the wedding ceremony * Champagne cruise around the Island, a Castaway tradition * Candlelit a la carte dinner for two including a wedding cake for the bride and groom E-mail Go Tours Travel for costings etc DINING AT CASTAWAY Your day starts with a Castaway buffet breakfast including Fiji's tropical fruits and juices, cereals, a selection of hot dishes and accompaniments including bacon, sausages, eggs any style, fresh baked croissants, hot cakes and danish pastries, tea selection and fresh brewed coffee. Our all day casual dining menu features light snacks and meals throughout the day to early evening. At night we dine alfresco under a canopy of Castaway stars overlooking the clear waters. The a la carte menu features the freshest Fijian seafood and crustaceans with grain fed beef, poultry and local Fijian creations as selections, together with fresh vegetables, crisp salads and crusty home baked breads - complimented by a hand selected wine list. Magnificent starlit dining by the water's edge is enhanced by the music and songs of the "Castaway Islanders" with their acoustic guitars and island style bass.
